SBI Clerk recruitment 2012 new vacancies for Assistants and Stenographers
Vacancy for SBI Clerk - Assistant: A total of 8500 vacancies available. Out of which 3145 for Gen, SC 2069, ST 1337 and OBC 1949.
Vacancy for SBI Clerk - Stenographer Hindi / English: Total of 1000 posts exists. Out of which Gen 537, SC 134, ST 70 and OBC 250.
The candidates who have applied earlier have one time edit option to change the State and Examination centre in view of the revised vacancy position. Also the SC/ST candidate can change their choice of pre-exam training centre.
Application fees for SBI Clerks recruitment 2012 for Assistants and Stenographers

Application fees for Assistant and Stenographer (both English & Hindi): OBC/General candidats have to pay Rs. 650/-
Candidates belongs to SC/ST/PWD/XS have to pay Rs. 50/- each to apply for all the above mentioned posts.

Selection procedure for SBI recruitment 2012 for Clerks Assistant and Stenographer
The selection is through the written examination which is of objective type multiple choice questions. You can read here for SBI Clerk exam syllabus. Please note that there will be negative marking for SBI Clerk exam 2012 and 1/4th of marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
The qualified candidates in the SBI Clerk written exam 2012 who have applied for Stenographer post will be called for to take up skill test in Stenography for which a dictation will be given for 10 minutes in English/Hindi at 100 w.p.m. The candidates needs to transcribed it on computer in 40 minutes for English stenography and within 55 minutes in case of Hindi Stenography.
