Infosys joining dates delayed as an effect of economic slowdown

The stride of US slowdown has already started showing its effect on Indian Software firms. The Banglore based software giant "Infosys" is not an exception.

Fresh engineering graduates who have been selected in the Infosys campus placements held in 2011 have been recieving joining dates extended upto July 2012.

Infosys recruitment drive has also slowed down considerably with a plan to recruit 35,000 engineers in 2013 as compared to the figure last year. In 2012 Infosys has recruited about 45,000 engineering graduates.

This is really weird from the campus placement cell. Campus placements are an on-going process for many of the MNCs in India. And many huge organizations are still fetching the candidates in their 2nd year of studies too.
I felt like, Infosys should at least starting the training for the recruited candidates with less stipend as they usually do, otherwise the candidates who got selected to campus interviews will be desperate of joining dates and stay calm at home for a call from recruitment teams of these MNCs.

There might also a chance for those who are not attending any more interviews will get lost their valuable time in case the recruited company might not call them at all!! This condition is very serious and no body is culprit in this condition. So, candidate has to decide its own for future conditions too.

Is it really big problem from US and UK end in India on software firms? Since many small software companies are really good in standing on their own business!!
