Bank PO / MT recruitment procedure through IBPS CWE exam
To get selected into the banking sector you need to write a common Written Examination (CWE) for Probationary officer / Management Trainee which is conducted twice a year by Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). After the examination, IBPS will issue CWE exam Score card to the successful candidates who have scored the minimum qualifying marks. Then each of the participating banks will shortlist candidates and notify their own selection procedure, eligibility criteria and conduct group discussions, interviews for further process.

Candidates who wish to join as Probationary Officer and Management Trainees in any of the Public Sector Bank have to take IBPS CWE exam. Except State Bank of India all other 19 Public Sector Banks in India are the part of CWE Exam. These IBPS CWE exam participating banks are Allahabad Bank, Andhra Bank, Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Canara Bank, Central Bank of India, Corporation Bank, Dena Bank, Indian Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Punjab National Bank, Punjab & Sind Bank, Syndicate Bank, Union Bank of India, United Bank of India, UCO Bank and Vijaya Bank.
IBPS CWE exam eligibility criteria & educational qualification
Aspiring candidates for the IBPS Common Written Examination should be either a citizen of India or subject of Nepal or Bhutan or can be a Tibetan Refugee who came to India with a intention to permanently settle in India or persons who are of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam who have got certificate of eligibility issued by Govt. of India are eligible to apply for CWE exam.
The bank PO CWE exam age limit is that the age of the candidate must be between 20 and 30 years on the date of the examination. There are age relaxations for several other categories for which you are advised to consult the official website of IBPS. The IBPS CWE exam educational qualification is that the willing candidates must be a graduate have an equivalent degree from any recognized university or recognized by the Central Government.
IBPS CWE exam structure and question patterns
The IBPS CWE exam full marks will be 250. There will be 250 objective type MCQ questions worth 225 marks, and the time limit will be 150 minutes for that. Apart from that there will be an one hour English language descriptive test worth 25 marks. The subjects for the objective test will be logical reasoning, English language aptitude test, quantitative aptitude test, basic computer knowledge aptitude test, and general awareness and GK test.
How to apply online for IBPS CWE exam
The IBPS CWE exam application process is quite simple. Please remember that IBPS accepts only online applications during the application period and no other mode is acceptable. The CWE exam application fees are Rs. 50/- for SC / ST / PWD candidates and Rs. 450/- for others, which can be made either online or offline. In case you wish to pay through online mode, you can make payment through your Master/Visa Debit or Credit cards or can go for internet banking. After successful payment take a print out of e-receipt and submit it with your CWE exam call letter at the time of your examination. If you wish to pay via offline mode then you can deposit the fees through NEFT at any of the above listed 19 Public Sector Banks and get the receipt and submit it with your call letter.
