No.of vacancies: A total of 60 vacancies are to be filled up through UPSC IES/ISS exam 2012.

Age limits: The age limit for UPSC IES/ISS exam 2012 should be between 21 to 30 years as on 01.08.2012. The upper age limit is relaxed as per govt. norms.

Educational eligibility for IES/ISS exam 2012: Candidates who wish to apply for IES should have a Post Graduate Degree in Economics/Applied Economics /Business Economics /Econometrics. Candidates who wish to apply for ISS should have Post Graduate Degree in Statistics / Mathematical Statistics/ Applied Statistics. Candidates awaiting for their results can also apply and candidates who are appearing for their final year exam are also eligible to apply.

Selection procedure for UPSC IES/ISS recruitment 2012


Candidates will be selected for UPSC IES/ISS based on the written test followed by document verification and the qualified candidates will be called for personality test or interview.

UPSC IES/ISS exam 2012 syllabus and pattern


The examination for IES/ISS consists of two parts. Part I is of written examination which carries 1000 marks and Part II is of Viva Voce which carries 200 marks.

The subjects or syllabus for UPSC IES exam 2012 are General English, General Studies, General Economics-I, General Economics-II, General Economics-III and Indian Economics.

The subjects or syllabus for UPSC ISS exam 2012 are General English, General Studies, Statistics-I, Statistics-II, Statistics-III and Statistics-IV.

The UPSC IES/ISS exam 2012 question paper will be set in English only.

UPSC IES/ISS exam 2012 application fees and procedure to apply


Application fees: Candidates have to remit 200 by the way of depositing the cash in branches of SBI or through net banking facility of SBI, State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/ State Bank of Hyderabad/ State Bank of Mysore / State Bank of Patiala/ State Bank of Travancore or can pay through Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card. Candidates belongs to SC/ST/PH and female candidates are exempted from fee payment.

How to apply: Candidates have to fill the online application form for UPSC IES/ISS 2012 through UPSC official website which is mentioned below. Candidates have to complete the part 1 registration and hit the submit button upon which you will get a registration number. Make a note of it and then proceed to make the payment.

Then enter the official website of UPSC to continue part II online registration for UPSC IES/ISS exam 2012. Enter the registration Id and complete the part 2 registration by uploading your scanned signature and photograph and hit the submit button. Take the print out of filled in application form and keep it for future reference.
