NEET (National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test) UG 2013 is a single common entrance test for admissions to MBBS/BDS courses which is designed to eliminate individual entrance exams for MBBS by each medical college. But however the two institutes AIIMS & JIPMER are not participating in NEET UG 2013 and will conduct separate entrance exam for MBBS courses.

NEET UG 2013 list of colleges, number of seats and eligibility criteria

List of colleges and no.of seats: Through this common entrance test NEET candidates can get admissions in 353 medical colleges recognized by MCI and number of seats is approximately about 45000. To know about state-wise seat allotment for NEET UG colleges please refer the official notification.

Age limit: The age limit for NEET UG 2013 for all India Quota seats is that the applicant should be between 17 to 25 years as on 31st December of the year of the entrance examination. However upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST/OBC.

The age limit for NEET UG 2013 for State Quota Seats is that the applicant should not be below 17 years and there is no upper age limit for State Quota seats.

Educational qualification: The candidates must have passed Class XII with minimum of 50% for General and 40% for Reserved category in aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

NEET UG cutt-off marks, merit list: The merit list for NEET UG 2013 will be prepared based on percentile scores of all applications. The minimum cut-off is 50th percentile for General category and for SC/ST/OBC NEET UG is relaxed to 40th percentile.

NEET UG 2013 exam pattern and syllabus

The NEET UG MCQ consists of 180 objective type questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The time duration given to complete the exam is 3 hours. The question paper for NEET UG is set either in English or in Hindi and candidates have the options to choose the language of the question paper. For State quota seats they can opt of question paper in their regional language. But have in mind, that if you wish to seek admission under State Quota seat of more than one State then you should appear the exam either in English or Hindi only.

The syllabus for NEET UG 2013 exam is based on Class XI and Class XII curriculum on Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

NEET UG 2013 online application form, fees, application procedure and last date

Examination fees: General/OBC candidates need to pay 1000 and 550 for SC/ST/PH. Late fees for General/OBC is 2000 and for SC/ST/PH candidates 1550. Candidates can pay the fees through online or by the way of challan and deposit the fees in CBSE bank account with Canara Bank or Syndicate Bank or e-Post Office.

How to apply: Candidates need to apply through online only. Dully fill the online application form for NEET UG 2013 and hit the submit button upon which you will get a system generated registration number. Make a note of this. Make your payment of fees either through online or through e-challan. Visit the website and duly fill the online application Part II with fee particulars and hit submit button. Take three to four copies of confirmation page and address slip and send one copy to CBSE along with copy of fee deposit receipt and it should reach the below mentioned address by the way of registered post/speed post on or before 10.01.2013 which is the last date for receipt of NEET UGC 2013 confirmation page.
