JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) 2013 notification has already been issued by Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India for admissions to Undergraduate Engineering Courses in NITs, IIITs, CFTIs and so on. Candidates who have not applied so far, can apply it now as the last date to apply online for JEE 2013 exam is 15th December, 2013. Let's now see what has been changed through JEE exam.

What is the new change in admission process for Engineering Entrance Exam through JEE 2013?

Earlier IIT-JEE was conducted by IITs for admissions to IITs, IISER, RGIPT and so on. So also AIEEE was conducted by CBSE for admissions to NIT, IIIT and other CFTI. Now the JEE will replace the two exams AIEEE and IIT-JEE with JEE (Main) and JEE (Advanced) respectively.

In more simple words, JEE (Main) exam is the gateway for you to join NITs, IIITs and so on and if you seek admissions to undergraduate programmes by IITs, then you need to appear for JEE(Advanced). So here JEE(Main) has become the eligibility test for JEE (Advanced).

JEE 2013 eligibility details

Age limit: The candidates who born on or after October 1, 1988 are eligible to apply. For SC/ST candidates born on or after October 01, 1983 are eligible to apply.

Educational qualification: Candidates who have passed Class XII exam in 2011 or 2012 or appearing for 2013 exam are eligible.

Qualifying marks: The merit list of JEE (Main) 2013 exam is prepared based on 40% weightage for Class XII marks or equivalent examination and 60% weightage for JEE (Main).

JEE 2013 exam pattern and syllabus

JEE (Main) 2013 exam has two papers of which Paper I will be conducted in two modes. Offline (Pen and Paper Based Examination) and Online (Computer Based Examination). Paper II exam will be conducted throuh offline mode only. According to the type of admission to the courses they opt for, candiates can take either Paper I or Paper II or can take both the papers.

The Paper I will have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and Paper II will have Mathematics, Aptitude test and Drawing Test.

JEE 2013 online application form and procedure to apply

Candidates need to apply through online only to appear for JEE (Main) and JEE (Advanced) 2013 exam. To apply candidates need to visit the official website and fill the online application form for JEE 2013 exam with relevant details. Upon submitting you will get a confirmation page with application number. The confirmation page has to be sent to the following mentioned address on or before 26.12.2012 by registered/speed post.

JEE (Main) 2013 offline exam date for Paper I: 07.04.2013 from 09:30 to 12:30 hrs
Jee (Main) 2013 offline exam date for Paper II: 07.04.2013 from 14:00 to 17:00 hrs.
Jee (Main) 2013 online exam date for Paper I: 08.04.2013 to 25.04.2013
