SSC Combined Graduate Level Examination 2013 application form, eligibility & important dates

SSC Combined Graduate Level Examination (SSC CGL) 2013 notification has been issued today 19.01.2013 for recruitment of Group B and Group C vacancies in various Ministries, Departments and Offices. Read on to know further details.

Pay scale: The salary for all the above mentioned posts carries pay band I of 5200-20200.

Age limit: The age limit to apply for SSC CGL 2013 is as below.
To apply for Inspector of Income Tax/ Inspector (Central Excise)/ Inspector (Preventive Officer)/ Inspector (Examinaer) / Inspector of Posts/ Assistant Enforcement Officer/ Inspector (CBN) Compiler/Divisional Accountant/ Audiors/ UDCs/Tax Assistants/ Junior Accountant & Accountant/ Sub-Inspector(CBN) - The age of the candidate should be between 18 to 27 years. (Should not born earlier than 02.01.1986 and not later than 01.01.1995)

Age limit for SSC CGL 2013 Statistical Investigator Gr II is the candidate's age should not be above 26 years. (i.e. born not earlier than 02.01.1987)

Age limit for SSC CGL 2013 Assistant/ Sub Inspector in CBI should be between 20 to 27 years. (i.e. not earlier than 02.01.1986 and not later than 01.01.1993)

Note: The age limit mentioned above should be as on 01.01.2013. However the upper age limit is relaxed as per govt norms.

Educational qualification: The educational qualifications required to apply for SSC CGL 2013 exam is as below and it should have been acquired as on 01.01.2013.

To apply for Compiler post: Candidates with Bachelor's Degree with Economics/ Statistics / Mathematics as compulsory or Elective subject are eligible.

To apply for Statistical Investigator Grade II - The candidate should have done Bachelor's Degree with Statistics as one of the main subject (or) Degree with Mathematics as one of the main subject with Statistics as one of the papers studied in any of the three years course. (or) Degree with Economics as one of the main subject with Statistics as a paper studied in any of the three years course. (or) Degree with Commerce as one of the main subjects with Statistics as a paper studied in any of the three years course are eligible to apply/

To apply for all other posts: Candidates with Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent are eligible to apply.

Note: For the posts of Assistants (CSS) - Computer proficiency is essential.

SSC CGL 2013 exam syllabus, pattern, selection procedure and examination dates


Selection Process: The mode of selection is based on two tier written examination followed by computer proficiency test/ Interview/ Skill test and description/ on-line test. The details are as follows. SSC will conduct CGL 2013 Tier I examination to filter candidates for Tier II examination to fill up vacancies in various Ministries, departments and organizations. So candidates who are qualified in CGL 2013 Tier I examination only be allowed to write for CGL 2013 Tier II examination. Tier III consits of Personality test cum interview for the Posts which carries Pay Band I. There will be computer proficiency test/ skill test which is conducted for applicable post followed by document verification.

SSC CGL 2013 Tier I Syllabus and Pattern and exam dates.
Tier I Examination: Total of 200 marks. Time duration is 2 hours and extra time of 40 minutes will be given for VH candidates.
Part A. General Intelligence and Reasoning - 50 marks
Part B. General Awareness - 50 marks
Part C. Quantitative Aptitude - 50 marks
Part D. English Comprehension - 50 marks.

The examination dates for SSC CGL 2013 is on 14.04.2013 and 21.04.2013 between 10:00 am to 12:00 noon or 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

SSC CGL 2013 Tier II exam syllabus, pattern and dates:
Tier II Examination:
Paper I Quantitative Abilities - 100 questions carries 200 marks.
Paper II English Language & Comprehension - 200 questions carries 200 marks.
Paper III Statistics - 100 questions carries 200 marks

Here Paper III is for those who wish to apply for Statistical Investigator Gr.II and Compiler post.

SSC CGL 2013 Tier II examination dates: Paper I is on 21.07.2013 between 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. Paper II is on 21.07.2013 between 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Paper III is on 20.07.2013 between 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

About SSC CGL 2013 exam negative marking: Candidates need to be aware that there will be negative marking for SSC CGL 2013 Tier I exam for which 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer and negative marking for SSC CGL 2013 Tier II exam for which 0.25 marks in Paper II and 0.50 marks in Paper I and III will be deducted for every wrong answer. So be sure, before attempting to answer the question.

SSC CGL 2013 application form, fees and procedure to apply


Candidates can have the option to apply for SSC CGL 2013 either by online application form or off-line application form. Candidates are requested to mention their post-wise and state-wise preference while applying.

Application fees: Candidates need to remit 100 towards application fees for SSC CGL 2013 exam. For off-line applications candidates need to pay the fee by the way of CRFS only. Get the CRFS stamps available at all Departmental Post Offices and the Recruitment fee stamp should be affixed on the application form and got cancelled at the counter of Post Office of issue with the date stamp. For candidates applying online remit the fees in through SBI challan generated online or pay with SBI online account.

How to apply offline: Candidates can get SSC CGL 2013 offline application form which is available in official website. Obtain the form and duly fill the details, affix your photograph, sign it where ever necessary, furnish your correct email id and mobile number for future communication. Remit the fees as mentioned above and after getting the recruitment fee stamps cancelled forward your application to the concerned Regional office/Sub regional offices of the Commission.

How to apply online: The online application process consists of Part I registration and Part II registration. Visit ssconline2.gov.in to fill the online application form for Part I registration and duly fill the details and hit the submit button, upon which you will get a system generated registration number. Take a print out of this page. Then proceed to pay the fees as mentioned above. Those who wish to pay online by SBI net banking can go ahead for Part II registration. Access the Part II registration form by providing your Part I registration number. Duly fill the payment details and upload your photograph and signature and go through the application form for correctness and hit the submit button and you are done! You will get email on completion of Part II registration. Keep the copy of your email safe as it might help you in times of discrepancies.
