The State Bank of India has announced the much awaited release of probationary officer recruitment notice for 2013 year. A good number of candidates are to be selected and posting will be across anywhere in India. The recruitment of probationary officers (PO) will be based on their performance of the written exam to be conducted in last week of April, 2013. Read the below details to know about the break up of posts for different categories in recruiting the PO, the required eligibility conditions and how to apply for the exam to be conducted later in the year.
SBI Probationary Officer Recruitment Vacancies breakup and required eligibility There will be a total 1500 posts to be recruited for PO posts in SBI Bank branches across India. However the number could increase as per requirement during the actual recruitment selection process. Take a look at the general break up of the posts to be recruited according to different categories:
1. No. of selection of General candidates for PO Post: 758 2. No. of selection of OBC candidates for PO Post: 405 3. No. of selection of SC candidates for PO post: 225 4. ST candidate's selection quota: 112
A total of 1500 posts as mentioned will be selected for the above four categories. For physically challenged and disabled candidates (PWD), separate 44 posts will be recruited under this quota, which will not be included in the 1500 total quota of selection.
Required Eligibility : Candidates applying for the above post must meet the following eligibility requirements:
1. He/She must be a graduate in any discipline from a good respective University or from any Government run colleges.
2. He/She must meet with the age criteria as specified for different candidates respective of their categories: For General Category Candidates: Should be 21 years or above, but below 30 years as on 01-01-2013.
For SC/ST Candidates, Ex-Service men: Upper age relaxed by 5 years
For OBC Candidates: Upper age relaxed by 3 years.
For PWD Candidates: Relaxation of upper age by 10 years for VU/OH General candidates, 13 years for VU/OH OBC candidates and 15 years for VU/OH SC/ST candidates respectively.
How to apply for SBI PO Recruitments 2013 and important exam dates Application for the registration of Probationary Officer recruitment will be accepted in online mode only. There is no offline mode for acceptance and registration for the above process. You will need to fill up a general application form online through the bank's official website, where details like Name, Education qualification, number of attempts, etc options will be there. You should fill the form correctly without any mistake and appropriately. You will have to scan your passport size photograph your signature for the application process. After scanning, upload it on your application process to get things done appropriately. After all the processes of filling up the details, the computer will give you two options of Payment- Either online payment or offline as per your choice.
The registration can be done between these dates : 30th January, 2013 to 23rd February, 2013
Application Fees for General and OBC candidates would be 200/- and 50 for SC/ST/PWD candidates applicable for either online or offline payment.
For Offline Payment : Check the offline payment option, the computer will generate a bank challan form in which all the details regarding your application number and details will be given. You have to go to the nearest SBI Bank branch and pay your requisite fees through the challan to complete your application process. A confirmation message shall be send to you by SBI team on confirmation of your registration. After you get the confirmation message, take a print out of the system generated application form along with the fee details for security and shall be required to submit during your interview process for selection. The offline fees can be paid from February 01, 2013 to February 28, 2013
For Online Payment : Choose the option 'Online Payment' after you successfully submit your application from. You can pay through your debit card / credit card or even with your internet banking feature facility. After you successfully complete your transaction, an e-receipt shall be issued to you which you can take a print out of it to be used for further records. Your application procedure will complete here. Online fees is accepted from January 30, 2013 to February 23, 2012.
Examination Date for SBI Probationary Officer Recruitment 2013 : 28th April, 2013 (Sunday)

SBI PO Recruitment 2013 final selection procedure and criterias for selection It is divided into two phases for the recruitment. In the first phase, there will be an objective test exam of 200 marks for duration of 2 hours. This is the first step where all the candidates will meet after their registrations for this written exam. In this exam, your English language skills, your analytical ability, reasoning level for different situations and data analysis and interpretation shall be taken into consideration. In this exam, a minimum qualifying mark is set by the Bank which is required to be cleared to move on further. All those candidates who secure the qualifying marks shall move on to the next stage for the recruitment process. In the next stage, a descriptive exam consisting of 50 marks with a duration of 1 hour is setup. Here your comprehension and letter writing language skills are checked. Those who clear this descriptive exam by obtaining qualifying marks as set by the bank, shall move further to the intermediate stage.
By the intermediate stage level, more than 50% candidates reduces of the actual number of candidates in the first stage. In this stage, Group Discussions are carried out followed by interview of selected candidates reaching to this level. A general score out of 100 is given based on candidate's performance in this segment.
In the final stage, the merit marks are prepared by converting 300 marks in the first phase to out of 75 marks and the marks obtained during the second stage out of 100 is converted to out of 25. So general lists of candidates are prepared based on the out of 100 marks obtained (75+25). Candidates topping the list gets higher preference and desired location preference as compared to low ranked candidates.
