Pay scale: The salary for SSC Engineering Assistant jobs is 9300-34800 with GP of 4200. The pay scale for SSC Technician posts will be in the pay scale of5200-20200 with GP of2400.
Age limit: The age limit for SSC recruitment for Engineering Assistant is 30 years as on 01.01.2013 and for Technician posts the age should be between 18 to 25 years as on 01.01.2013.

For Engineering Assistant - Candidates with three years diploma in Radio / Telecommunication /Electrical/ Electronics / IT/ Electronics and Communication Engineering with one year of experience in the related field are eligible to apply. (OR) Candidates who have done Degree with Physics as one of the subjects with one year of relevant experience (OR) Candidates with Degree in Telecommunication/ Electronics / Electrical/ Information Technology/ Electronics and Communication Engineering are eligible to apply.
For Technician Post: To apply for this post, the candidates should have passed 10+2 from a recognized board with 2 years Diploma in Electronics /Telecommunication Engineering.
Note: Candidates should have acquired the above said educational eligibility as on 01.01.2013.
Selection procedure for SSC recruitment for Engineering Assistant and Technician vacancies
Candidates will be selected for Engineering Assistant and Technician posts based on the written examination conducted by Staff Selection Commission followed by interview for the post of Engineering Assistant and Technician posts do not have any such interview.
SSC Engineering Assistant and Technician in Prasar Bharati exam syllabus and pattern
SSC Engineering Assistant exam syllabus and pattern: SSC Prasar Bharati examination 2013 for Engineering Assistant consists of two papers. Paper I is of objective type which carries 200 marks. Paper II is of Descriptive type which carries 200 marks. Time given to complete is 2 hrs each. Here is the syllabus for Engineering Assistant.
Paper I - General Intelligence & Reasoning - 50 questions - 50 marks.
General Awareness - 50 questions - 50 marks
Technical Knowledge - 100 questions - 100 marks.
Paper II - Any one of the following subjects - Physics, Radio Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Information Technology - 200 marks.
SSC Prasar Bharati exam syllabus and pattern for Technician post: It consists of two papers. Paper I is of objective type carrying 200 marks, and Paper II is of descriptive type carrying 200 marks and time given to complete the exam is 2 hrs each. The syllabus is as follows.
Paper I - General Intelligence & Reasoning - 50 questions - 50 marks
General Awareness - 50 questions - 50 marks
Technical knowledge - 100 questions - 100 marks
Paper II - Any one of the following - Electronics Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering.
Candidates should be aware and keep in mind that there will be negative marking for SSC Engineering Assistant and Technician exam for objective type paper for which 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
SSC Prasar Bharati Exam 2013 online application for Engineering Assistant and Technician vacancies, fees and procedure to apply
Application fees: Candidates need to pay 200 through SBI by the way of challan or netbanking. Candidates belongs to SC/ST/EX-SM/PH and women candidates are exempted from fee payment.
How to apply: The online registration for SSC Prasar Bharati exam for Engineering Assistant and Technician vacancies consists of two step process. Candidates need to click Part I registration by visiting ssconline2.gov.in website to fill the online application form for SSC Engineering Assistant and Technician and have to duly fill the basic information and hit the submit button upon which you will get system generated registration number. Now make your payment and then proceed with Part II registration by providing the registration number and complete the part II registration process after uploading your scanned photograph and signature. Take the print out of filled in application form and keep it for your future reference.
