UPSC Engineering Services Examination (UPSC IES) 2013 notification has been issued for which UPSC will conduct a combined competitive examination for the recruitment of various Engineering Services such as Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE), Central Engineering Service (CES), Military Engineering Services (MES) and so on. UPSC IES exam 2013 date commences on 28th June 2013. Read on to know details.

UPSC Engineering Services Examination 2013 eligibility, vacancies and details


UPSC IES exam 2013 vacancies: A total of 763 vacancies are to be filled up for various Engineering Services in the disciplines of Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering.

IES 2013 Age limit: The age of the candidate should be between 21 to 30 years as on 01.01.2013. However the upper age limit is relaxed as per govt. norms

IES 2013 educational qualification: The candidate should be Graduate Engineer from a recognized University. Even candidates from final year can also appear for Engineering Services exam provided, they have to provide the proof of qualifying the exam when the IES exam 2013 results are out around December 2013.

Selection procedure, pattern and syllabus for UPSC Engineering Services Examination 2013


Selection process: The selection process consists of two stages. Part I is Written Exam and Part II is Personality Test.

Exam pattern and Structure: The IES exam question papers will have two sections. Section I is of Objective type multiple choice questions and Section II is of conventional type. The time given to complete objective type questions is 2 hours for each paper and time given to complete conventional type will be 3 hours for each paper. Each paper carries 200 marks. Please note that there will be negative marking for UPSC Engineering Services Exam for every wrong answers, in the objective type MCQs.

UPSC Engineering Services Exam 2013 admit card / call letter


Candidates need to obtain their IES exam 2013 admit card or call letter from the UPSC Official Website which will be available two or three weeks before the commencement of the exam.

UPSC Engineering Services Examination 2013 online application form, fees and procedure to apply


Application fees: Candidates need to pay 200 either by the way of depositing cash at any branches of SBI or by using net banking facility of SBI, State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/ State Bank of Hyderabad/ State Bank of Mysore/ State Bank of Patiala/ State Bank of Travancore or can pay by using Visa / Master / Credit/Debit Card. Candidates belongs to SC/ST/PH/ Female candidates are exempted from fee payments.

How to apply: The online registration for UPSC Engineering Services Examination consists of two parts. To apply online visit upsconline.nic.in and click Part I registration. Duly fill the online application form for Engineering Services Exam 2013 with necessary details and submit the button. You will get unique registration ID which has to be noted down. Make the payment as said above. Then visit the website again and click Part II registration. Provide the registration ID and proceed to complete Part II application form of IES 2013 and hit the submit button to complete the process.
