UPSC Combined Medical Services (CMS) 2013 exam notification has been issued for recruitment of various Medical Services mentioned below for which the exam will be conducted on 30th June, 2013. Read on to know details.

UPSC Combined Medical Services Exam 2013 eligibility details

UPSC CMS 2013 vacancies: The exact number of vacancies has not published in the official notification but the vacancies are to be filled up for the following mentioned post.
  • Assistant Divisional Medical Officer in the Railways.
  • Assistant Medical Officer in Indian Ordnance Factories Health Service.
  • Junior Scale Posts in Central Health Services.
  • General Duty Medical Officer Gr-II in East Delhi Minicipal Corporation, North Delhi Municipal Corporation and South Delhi Municipal Corporation.
  • General Duty Medical Officer in New Delhi Municipal Council

UPSC CMS 2013 age limit: The age of the candidate should be below 32 years as on 01.01.2013. However the upper age limit is relaxed as per govt. norms.

CMS 2013 educational qualification: Candidates must have passed their final MBBS Examination. Final year candidates can also apply, provided they have to provide the proof of qualifying their examination at the time of CMS exam 2013 results.

UPSC Combined Medical Services Exam 2013 syllabus and pattern

Selection process: Candidates will be selected based on written exam followed by personality test.

Exam pattern and syllabus: CMS 2013 exam consists of two parts. Part I consists of written exam which has two papers and each paper carries 250 marks. Time given to complete the exam is two hours. Part I written exam carries 500 marks. Part II is personality test which carries 100 marks.

UPSC CMS Question Paper I will have 30 questions on General Ability, 70 questions on General Medicine and 20 questions on Paediatrics.

UPSC CMS Question Paper II will have 40 questions on Surgery, 40 questions on Gynaecology & Obstetrics and 40 questions on Preventive & Social Medicine.

Candidates please note that there will be negative marking for UPSC CMS 2013 exam for which one third of the marks (0.33) is deducted for every wrong answer.

UPSC CMS 2013 admit card

Candidates can get CMS 2013 admit card from the official website of UPSC three weeks before the commence of the examination. The exam date for CMS 2013 is 30th June, 2013.

How to apply for UPSC Combined Medical Services Exam 2013

Application fees: Candidates need to pay 200 either by the way deposting the cash in any branches of SBi or can remit by using net banking facility of SBI/ State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/ State Bank of Hyderabad/ Mysore/ Patiala/ Travancore or by using Visa /Master Credit/Debit Card. Candidates belongs to SC/ST/PWD and Women candidates are exempted from fee payment.

How to apply: Interested eligible candidates need to visit official website of UPSC for online registration of UPSC CMS 2013 which consists of two parts. Click the Part I registration to fill up the online application form for CMS 2013 exam and input necessary details and hit submit button, upon which unique registration id will be displayed on the screen. Make a note of this. Then make the payment as said above and visit the website again and click Part II registration and enter your registration number and complete the part II registration process.
