Postal / Sorting Assistant Post exam syllabus


As per Department of Posts, India Post. The Postal Assistant / Sorting Assistant written test will be of objective type with multiple choices of question on General Knowledge, English, Mathematics, Reasoning and Analytical ability. The total marks for Postal / Sorting Assistant is of 100.

Aptitude Test for PA / SA
The aptitude test paper of Postal Assistant / Sorting Assistant contain four parts viz. A, B, C and D. Each part will contain 25 questions and 25 marks accordingly. The Postal Assistant exam aptitude test paper will be completed in 2 hours or 120 minutes. There is no negative marks for unattended or wrong answer thus in case if you are unaware of correct answer, you can attempt for all the questions for aptitude test paper as there is no negative marking for postal assistant exam.

General Knowledge for PA / SA
Postal Assistant exam syllabus for Part A General Knowledge: You will get 25 questions from topics on current events, sports, history, geography, basic economics, general polity, Indian constitution, science environment and so on. This
test paper is conducted to know about your knowledge on current affairs.

Mathematics for PA / SA
Postal Assistant exam syllabus Part B Mathematics: This test is conducted to test your numerical ability in doing calculations and your quickness in arriving at solutions. The postal assistant exam aptitude test paper on Mathematics consists of topics on number system, simplification, decimals, corrections, average, compound interest, time and work, profit and loss and so on.

English Knowledge for PA / SA
Post Office Assistant exam syllabus for Part C English: The Postal assistant aptitude test for English is to test your language skills how well you are good in grammar and in forming sentences and the topics covers on antonyms / Synonyms, prepositions, adverbs, direct/indirect speech, singular & plural, tenses and so on.

Reasoning exam for PA / SA
Postal Assistant exam syllabus for Part D: This will have questions on Reasoning and analytical ability. There will be Computer and Typing Test for Postal Assistant exam. Typing test - Paper II: There will be a typing test of passage of 450 words in English or 375 words in Hindi which has to be performed with a minimum speed of 30/20 WPM / within 15 minutes duration. The Data Entry test consists of figures and letters with duration of 15 minutes.

Eligibility of PA / SA


Candidate shall have completed HSC / 10+2 exam with the following percentage to be Scored for eligible.
SC/ST 45% and above
OBC 55% and above
OC 60% and above

Cut-off marks for Postal Assistant exam:
Following are the cut-off marks required from each part of Aptitude test for eligible.
OC - 10 marks in each part and 40% in aggregate
SC/ST - 8 marks in each part and 33% in aggregate
OBC - 9 marks in each part and 38% in aggregate
