Office of the Commissioner for Government Examinations, Pareekshabhavan is inviting application from eligible candidates for Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (K-TET), September 2014. The last date to apply ONLINE for KTET is on 20th Aug 2014. Interested candidates can download the prospects from www.keralapareekshabhavan.in (or) www.scert.kerala.gov.in (or) http://bpekerala.in/tet-2014/. K-TET is an examination to assess the quality of teacher candidates for Lower Primary, Upper Primary and High School Classes in Kerala.

Eligibility to apply for KTET 2014:


There is no age limit prescribed for candidates appearing for K-TET.

Category-I (for Lower Primary classes):
Higher Secondary / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and two year Trained Teachers' Certificate (TTC) conducted by Board of Examination, Govt. of Kerala or its equivalent OR Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2 year Diploma in Education (Special Education) OR Higher Secondary / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations.

Category II: (for Upper Primary classes):
B.A/B.Sc./B.Com. and 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education/Trained Teachers' Certificate (TTC) conducted by Board of Examination, Govt. of Kerala or its equivalent OR B.A/B.Sc/B.Com with at least 45% marks and 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.), in accordance with NCTE (Recognition, Norms and Procedure) regulations.

Category III (for High School classes):
The test is for HSAs in: (i) Malayalam (ii) English (iii) Hindi (iv) Sanskrit (v) Tamil (vi) Kannada (vii) Arabic (viii) Urdu (ix) Social Science (x) Physical Science (xi) Natural Science and (xii) Mathematics. The Minimum qualification to apply include (i) BA / BSc / B.Com with at least 45% marks and a B.Ed. Degree in the subject concerned (from any one of the Universities in Kerala or have acquired these qualifications from any other Universities recognized as equivalent thereto.

Category-IV:
For Language teachers in Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu (up to Upper Primary level), Specialist teachers and Physical Education teachers (up to High School level) and for teachers of Art Education and Craft Education. Those who have acquired qualifications for the posts of Language Teachers of Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit & Urdu (up to Upper Primary level), Specialist teachers & Physical Education teachers as mentioned in Chapter XXXI of Kerala Education Act and Rules are eligible to apply for K-TET IV.

Important dates of K-TET 2014 test / exam


K-TET-I: 27th Sep 2014 (Saturday) from 10 am to 12.30 pm
K-TET-II: 27th Sep 2014 (Saturday) from 2 pm to 4.30 pm
K-TET-III: 18th Oct 2014 (Saturday)- 10 am to 12.30 pm
K-TET-IV: 18th Oct 2014 (Saturday)- 2 pm to 4.30 pm.

Each paper will be of 2 ½ hours duration with 150 questions from different areas, each will carry 1 mark with no negative marking for wrong answers. The structure of the Test will be different for each category. Details regarding the structure of the Test for each category, the various areas from where questions can be expected, sample question papers etc are given in the Prospectus.

The KTET 2014 Examination fee
Rs.500/- for each category.
Rs. 250/- for SC/ST and differently abled categories.

How to apply online for KTET 2014

Applications has to be made through online at http://bpekerala.in/tet-2014/, till 20th Aug 2014, 2 pm. Candidates can check the Prospectus before submitting the application from. Examination centres will be announced after inviting applications from the candidates. Pareeksha Bhavan, will conduct the exam centre anywhere in Kerala.

Kindly check this one for how to apply online for KTET 2014. Candidate may log on to http://bpekerala.in/tet-2014/ and click on 'K-TET Chalan Form', fill in the required details and choose any of the available branches of State Bank of Travancore in and around various places in India. After filling the details click 'Submit'. Candidate may view three copies of the chalan with the amount to be paid, based on the number of categories applied for. Applicant may take the print out of the chalan and remit the amount in the selected branch of SBT. Follow the further steps given therein. Make sure to click on 'Online Application Form' and keep ready Application ID and Application Number provided in the chalan and proceed as directed and take a print out of the uploaded application form. Make sure any correction prior to submit it.

The centre of examination will be allotted and announced by Pareeksha Bhavan in the Admit card which can be downloaded from the website from 16th Sep 2014 to 26th Sep 2014. The Examination will be held on 27th Sep 2014 and 18th Oct 2014 as per the following time table. A person who scores 60% or more in the K-TET examination will be considered 'KTET passed' or 'K-TET qualified'.
